«Oldest ‹Older 601 – 756 of 756"Our universe we cannot completely see, and feel things we cannot say; we stand helpless amidst the movements of our souls, and hope for that which is unknowable for now"
The 300 were now singing with a full, glorious and effusive effect, which caused the stage to light up with exceptional brilliance.
Demetrios and his aides, as if on cue, stood up together and yelled to the General, "Dinoja, we are being invaded", but the General was transfixed and unable to disconnect from the wonderful sounds and take his eyes off his changing surroundings and the subtle appearance of a choir on the wall of the castle.
Demetrios, with his evil and determined presence of mind, reached within his coat pocket and pulled out an explosive device, which he immediately hurled at the 4 on the stage.
Everyone saw the powerful explosion, encased suddenly in a pocket of beautiful blue.
Emme and Zachary were beaming with delight at their blue projection designed to quell sudden explosive attacks.
Demetrios was taught to defend his turf at all costs, even at the peril of his life, and as he pulled out his radio to call for reinforcements, Dinoja Zidovska knocked the radio from his hand and said, "No, you are risking my daughters' lives, and if this is an attack from belligerents, they are not harmed, and neither will we."
At that moment of confrontation, and when doubts crept into the hearts of some of the more hardened and loyal warriors of Slovakia, but not the majority of adoring onlookers, a great apparition burst into the room with flowing gown and light all around.
It was Adriana Zidovska appearing in the portal from the Grotto.
She was glorious and beckoned to the astonished General, who stood back with both incredulous disbelief and instant longing for his beloved wife who had died in some distant waves.
She sang out in such glorious and infectious tones, "I come in peace and declare to you that Slovakia can no longer be at war, for the peace and light that is flowing into you now is greater than all war and all alliances that take you to war."
The General suddenly felt great pain at not being with Adriana, and so he ran into her arms, and they both disappeared as light gathered around them and took them away.
The 300 in the Killarney Grotto sang in majestic union, "The General and his wife have gone to heaven", and at that point everyone was so overwhelmed by the experience, that they fell to the ground wrapped in ecstasy.
It was several minutes before anyone at Bratislava Castle uttered a single word; back in the Vienna Woods a huge blue light arched into the night sky and could be seen for miles.
It was a majestic, yet somewhat terrifying sight to behold; in such times of warfare people were unsure what to make of it and but the strong energy emitted from here was felt by many.
Far away, Raneen's eyes glowed an opulent blue, like a finely cut saphire; she smiled as Natalia communicated that "All was well"
People in and near the vacinity of Bratislava especially felt the effects of the previous few minutes; they were uncertain as to what the future held in store, yet somehow they felt as ease.
Finally, Demetrios, the General's closest aide spoke: " Attention everyone, Dinoja Zidovska has perished, he is in Heaven now...and it is my duty to announce that his daughter Kay ( Katerina) Zidovska will now take over as ruling Empress of Slovakia."
Kay looked around at the hundreds of loyal and adoring people, who had respected, admired, and even loved her father; she spoke her first words as her father's successor and the new ruler of Slovakia.
" I declare Bishop Brennen to be my husband, and Emporer of Slovakia."
Back at the Killarney grotto, the mood was of immense jubilation; Bram raised a glass of his finest ale high into the air and then joyously toasted " to success" with his wife, Mia.
Dinoja, looked around bewildered, and said to his wife Adriana, " My sweet..am I dreaming?"
" If I am...then never wake me..because I have longed for the day that I would be with you once more, my lovely."
Emma observed to herself, "Their love is like Kay's and Bishop's and is found in its fullness in our society."
"Kay", asked Bishop, "what does an Emperor and Empress do in Slovakia?"
" It's an honorary title..my father held the title as well but he was also a decorated General, and as such he ruled the military; my father had the final say on all strategic military planning."
It is customary in Slovakia that the first-born daughter take over her father's military command when the time is right; for seven years, beginning at age ten all girls are trained in all aspects of warfare, and only those who graduate with the highest honors join their father's in the front lines.
I graduated at the top of my class.
Not only do I now have the honorary title of Emporess of Slovakia, but I will also take over as the ruling General.
" Bishop, this is huge..." Ian interjected, suddenly Bram's final words to me echoed in my brain.." Slovakia will be yours."
Kay continued, " Bishop, I want to make a difference...I want to make a change...and honor my father and my mother, please will you help me?"
Natalia began mumbling short little rhythmic verses, over and over... " a universe we cannot see, a generation yet to be, in the light we are free, love spins a new reality."
"We are in this together, Kay", said Bishop, "but I am wondering if you have to leave through the portal to help Raneen, Anah's sister, and if you do, what will Slovakia do without your presence?"
"We know nothing about Raneen."
Raneen sat on the floor of her bedroom happily playing with her doll; she was especially more talkative than usual.
She had set a pretend table for lunch, including a place-setting for her favorite doll; Raneen was chit-chattering away with her "imaginary" friend as her mother entered the room.
Her mother, Shatha, began pouring some soup into a bowl and then lovingly said, " Raneen, shall I pour some soup for your friend?"
Shatha liked to indulge her daughter's creativity and playfullness; she suspected that Raneen was especially lonely since the death of her brother Anah, and that she was coping with her loss in the very best way that she could so Shatha filled a second bowl of soup and set it down beside Raneen.
" Mother, we'd both like some bread please...thank you," Raneen gingerly broke some bread in half and put some on the plate beside her.
As Shatha looked at her daughter she was suddenly filled with great sadness, she thought to herself. " Oh Raneen how I wish the world were a better place for you...
Your young eyes have seen things no child should see, bodies burned and dragged through the streets, and children blown up where they stood, as they waited for candy from a soldier.
Your ears have heard things no child should hear, bombs exploding like thunder, and screams of torture and death.
The world is a horrible place...how I wish I could make it better...if only wishes were enough!
If only you could play without fear, with real friends, not imaginary fantasies.
Raneen lifted the warm bowl of soup to her mouth and took a big slurp, "Mmmmmmm tastes so good," do you like the soup Emme?"
" Yes, Raneen, I like it very much..and the bread..it is so soft and warm and quite delicious..different than the bread in Killarney, but delicious just the same."
Raneen paid no attention to her mother's fears or worries, all was well in her world.
"Emme, Raneen began, Will you bring Kay to us soon?"
"We've all been ready and waiting...and well, we are all just anxious to begin.
Emme hesitated for a moment, " You must have patience Raneen, Kay will come...but it must be her desire.
"But I want Kay to become a peaceful warrior...so does Natalia..can't I go to Kay?"
" It doesn't work that way, Raneen..a Peaceful Warrior..Kay will become..but it must be her desire..and then I promise she will come.
Raneen was content with Emme's answer...for now.
"Kay, honey, since Slovakia is ours now, then we have a responsibility for it, and I'm thinking we should set up programs to teach a people who have been used to war to get accustomed to peace, love and inspirational things so the power of the 300 in the Grotto can reach them more easily."
"I have a feeling that those outside Slovakia, who have had alliances with the General and his aides, might want to investigate the lack of response from this area to the war campaigns, and when they do, there could be consequences."
"Bishop, we haven't known each other very long, though our love is great, so let's mingle with Slovakia's citizens, set up beneficial programs, and talk further about what possible dangers there may be from both inside and outside Slovakia, and in doing so our love and friendship will bloom beyond what we now know."
"Bishop, we are young still, but not too long from now, we will have a child, and when that time comes, I want to name her Benevolence Brennan because she will be a symbol and role model for many others."
"So, you think we will have a girl?"
Razik and Anah sat in the cottage in Killarney watching Bram, Mia and Zachary enjoying the simple cottage meal that Mia liked to cook.
Bram and Mia could see them, and this was possible because of their experience in the Grotto and because Zachary's spiritual abilities and his special relationship with Emme had heightened the overall abilities of people around them.
All of Killarney had changed, and all the citizens knew it, but those not in the Grotto or not acquainted with it did not completely understand it.
Emme suddenly appeared near Razik and Anah and smiled at Zachary.
Bram said, "It is quite a pleasure having all of our illustrious spiritual celebrities here, and I don't know why our cottage is so blessed to have all of this light and love."
"Razik and Anah are worried about Anah's sister, Raneen, because she has fought through much peril on the dangerous and precipitous slopes of Mount Trebevic in Bosnia, and now is on the plains high on the mountain in hiding in a cave with a few friends", explained Emme.
"The culture where she lives has seen so much war and death and destruction, and the customs and the local beliefs there have so twisted the minds of both the young and old, that my influence and even the influence of the Grotto 300 are not very influential there, and are even disregarded and misunderstood."
"Raneen is almost 10, but she is a fighter and often consoles herself and others with music and with stories of survival that inspires and consoles her friends."
"Razik and Anah would like Zachary to go through the portal and be a friend to Raneen and live life as she lives it and be an influence in her life, for although she has so much spirituality, courage, endurance and determination, she has been too much influenced by the war, rapine, philosophies and influence of challenged friends in their environment."
"I know Raneen very well", said Anah, "and so I have a feeling that she will want to be Zachary's friend."
"Because of Zachary's great spiritual talents, he will be in touch with the Grotto and Emme and will get the help he needs, even if we have to pass supplies through the portal on the battlefields, and so, Bram and Mia, you do not have to worry that your young son being on the plains on
Mount Trebevic in Bosnia."
"And though you need not worry excessively, we do have additional knowledge from General Zidovska about the advanced tracking technology of those waging war in Bosnia and the surrounding areas that we would like to inform you about."
"The war authorities there can track force anomalies, such as the light portal, with greater precision and force than there is in Slovakia, and can quell and suppress it better, and so there could be a fight and iffy circumstances when we need to support Zachary", counseled Emme.
"Razik and Anah wanted Kay to help Raneen, but Kay and Bishop have their hands full with each other and their people in Slovakia, and so we we ask you, Bram, Mia and Zachary, for this great favor, which will be a life changing experience."
"I had a feeling that there was something important for me to do, and it was gnawing at me", said Zachary.
Zachary's eyes were large and luminous as he said this, and Bram thought to himself, "Zachary will not be alone, and he will learn a lot through this experience, and so I will consent."
Mia broke in with, "For the sake of Raneen and Anah, and because I want Zachary to experience what he needs, we will consent to this, and wish everyone the best."
"Project Generations will climb the hills of Mount Trebevic", Zachary sang.
The Grotto walls were glowing, and even singing, as Zachary approached the wall of light swelling with the voices of the 300.
Zachary heard Razik announce: "There will be dark fog, rain and intense winds intermittently for months, and enemies all around below and around the mount, and the mountain is steep and treacherous, and so you will need all of your youthful strength and determination, and so go with Allah and the support of all those in the Grotto and beyond."
Zachary stepped into the light with all of his gear and felt pulled into a dark, cold place, and heard winds howling close by.
He found himself instinctively singing a verse from The Undiscovered Universe, and it calmed his soul.
"Our universe we cannot completely see, and feel things we cannot say; we stand helpless amidst the movements of our souls, and hope for that which is unknowable for now"
As Zachary departed for Bosina to be with Raneen, Razik and Anah understood their deep intuition about the alliance of Kay and Raneen; it was a premonition of that yet to be..Kay and Raneen, united in friendship and like mindedness...helping each other and their countries.
Zachary, however, must be accepted and a friend to Raneen; his sucess was important.
Zachary, the boy with the dark haunting eyes and spiritual soul, born on 9-9-9 and filled with the electricity of love and light must be an influence to the darkness he now stepped into.
Unseen, Emme appeard next to Raneen's loving mother, Shatha, and whispered words of love that she could hear and understand...sweet messages from her son Ahah..about a boy with eyes of the night.
As Emme disappeared Shatha felt a small breeze beside her face; small prickles of goosebumps ran up and down her arms but inside her heart felt warm and even at peace.
Shatha had not seen Raneen for 2 weeks, just after Raneen's conversation with her imaginary friend, for scores of improvised explosive devices had detonated in the community while Raneen was out with a group of her friends, and they scattered and joined in larger groups.
She suspected that Raneen would go to her favorite mountain, Mount Trebevic, for it was there that she had practiced hunting and warrior skills with her young friends.
"My Raneen is a girl of many contradictions," thought Shatha, "because she has been through so much."
Raneen pushed up Mount Trebevic with a few of her friends in the dark and windy night and slipped into the cave that she knew so well.
Zachary had been in that cave for a while, and he had tried to find the exit so he could search for Raneen in Bosnia, but it was a subtle passageway, and so he decided to sit and read his survival manual by the light of the small flashlight in his pack.
Zachary read, "In battlefield situations and unknown dangers at night, it is good to smear mud on your face and arms to avoid detection", and so he did just that.
As he sat in the corner of the muddy cave, he heard voices nearby and saw a little light enter the cave and something like a door open, and so he stood perfectly still with his eyes a little closed so his luminous eyesight wouldn't give him away.
Zachary felt the presence of those in the Grotto and also Emme, and so he knew what to do to avoid detection until he thought it best to show himself.
He wanted to blend in with the muddy walls, the night and the shadows until the right moment came.
The right moment would come soon, but now he just wanted to observe whoever was coming through that opening.
Much like Natalia's favorite book from her secret library, through the "rabbit hole" they all came...one by one...five boys, five girls, and Raneen, entered into the dark and stillness of the cave.
Unknown to any adults, this part of the cave was their safe haven; it was a place where they often gathered to talk of things no child so young should have to speak of.
The perils of an ongoing war, all too familiar, had made them tough and made them survivors.
Hatred and intolerance had made them hardened...and yet these children, all with black, luminous eyes... still had hope for a better future.
Their present, so filled with danger, however; was something they all must survive first.
..and their survival skills were remarkable...they had quickly built a small fire and gathered in a tight circle around the tiny crackling flames.
They lowered their heads, and with eyes closed, they said a small prayer of gratitude.
They were grateful that once again, death had not greeted them, and for now they were safe from the world beyond these walls.
I watched closely as one of the boys stood up and walked over to small cubby hole in the wall; he reached in an pulled out a small sack.
It was filled with food, obviously left here at some previous time.
There were small jugs of water too; it was apparent they had prepared well for times like this.
I dared to speak, but held my breath instead; Raneen spoke first.
She jumped to her feet and held a large stick out in front of her; she must have sensed my presence, "Stranger...show yourself!"
Although her face was sweet, Raneen was fierce and fearless.
I stepped forward, my body covered in filth and mud; I wiped away some from my face, " I mean no harm...I've travelled a long way."
Raneen lowered her weapon as her eyes met mine, and then she reached out her hand to me.
" Come by the fire and get warm," she said.
Maybe my mind was playing tricks on me, but I swear I felt a small spark of electricity shoot from her hand as she touched my shoulder and motioned for me to join the group by the fire.
Maybe it was just my nerves; it was strange to have eleven sets of eyes stairing into mine..waiting for what it was I had to say.
Raneen interupted my obvious and awkward hesitation, " You must be hungry...sit...eat with us...and then tell us who you are and where it is you come from."
These times are dark and unsafe..and we may all be here together for a while.
A world away, in a small town in the USA, a young woman cried into her pillow.
In the darkness of the night she cried out for her husband, " David, where are you?" she sobbed.
Her husband, an American soldier had been missing for nearly two weeks.
His plane had gone missing, somewhere near Slovakia..and he has not been heard from since.
..and the United States gov't wasn't talking.
"David.. where are you...come back to me..please come home safely."
She cried herself to sleep, as she had each night since her husband David disappeared.
There within the safety of the Vienna woods, just on the outskirts of Slovakia, Private David Coleman wandered.
He was alone, hungry, and tired.
Somehow, his plane had disappeared from all radar; the last thing David recalled was a blinding light.
He woke up dazed and confused with no plane wreckage in sight.
He was in a field or a meadow; he couldn't be sure.
Beside him was his backpack and his gun.
..and so David Coleman began to just walk..and walk; he walked for what seemed to be miles.
Somehow he was deep within the woods and he stopped to rest beneath a large tree.
He leaned back against the large trunk and closed his eyes for a moment.
Soon visions of home filled his head, and the movie in his mind brought him back to his wife's loving arms.
In a grand ballroom they danced a most beautiful waltz.
They glided magnificently across the dancefloor; David wanted the dance and the music to never end.
Startled from his beautiful dream, David woke up.
The music, however; still played.
Where the hell was he..and what the hell was going on?
He stood before a wall of light from where enchanting beings strolled in and out of view, and they were doing such beautiful things with their attractive forms, such as playing violins, singing stunning arias and vocal crescendos, and smiling smiles of intoxicating vision.
David thought, "Have I died and gone to a heaven of deep, deep beauty and sound?"
He saw these beings walk deeper into the woods that were before him; so he want to see where they were going, so he followed them.
Meanwhile, back at Bratislava Castle, Bishop and Kay were slowly adjusting to what had transpired there.
Kay gazed adoringly at Bishop and answered his question, "I'm certain, Bishop..we will have girl..and she will be beautiful and strong willed.
She reached out and took Bishop by the hand, " Come, Bishop..let's walk through the garden and talk a while."
I reached out and grasped Kay's hand; as we walked out toward the garden I glanced back at her sister Natalia.
Natalia seemed quite pleased with it all; she grinned an impish grin.
My attention however, was drawn to something beyond the garden, past the lake, and toward the woods just outside the grounds of Bratislava Castle.
It was nothing that I could see, instead it was a feeling..a feeling so strong that I had to follow where it lead me.
Kay held on tighly to my hand as we walked toward...exactly what...I wasn't sure.
The Vienna woods were dark and dense but David managed to follow the glimmers of beings he thought he saw.
In the far distance David could still hear the most beautiful music, and he assumed that whoever or whatever he saw was headed toward it; also,David was thirsty and very hungry.
His body ached, he was tired, but David knew he had to keep moving forward..toward exactly what...he was not sure.
David awakened to find himself in Bratislava Castle; the back of his skull ached from the enourmous bump he now had.
and then Bethoven said, "my balls itch, will you scratch them?"
